Do you need extra hands to work during the season? Do you want to replace an employee on a longer health or holiday leave? Or maybe you want to be able to flexibly adapt to your current employment needs. Temporary work can be the answer to all these problems. It is a very convenient way to fill vacancies in the company, especially used in places with high employee turnover. Leasing Team is a temporary employment agency that will provide you with the best results, providing you with the right candidates and taking over almost all the responsibilities related to their employment!

How does a temporary employment agency work?

Hiring employees on a temporary basis is actually renting them from another entity – an employment agency. This is also called employee leasing. The employment agency is an intermediary entity in this case. It concludes two contracts – one with the employee and the other with the so-called user employer. Formally, the employee is employed by the agency, which means many benefits for the user employer. The most important thing is to minimize formal obligations related to, m.in others, HR and payroll, personal data protection, drafting contracts, paying contributions, etc. The temporary employment agency is also liable for any damage caused by the employee and is obliged to pay compensation if it occurs.

Temporary work – when does it make sense?

Temporary work is an ideal solution in many situations. Due to the fact that it covers a fixed-term contract and allows for its termination with a short notice period and without the need to pay severance pay, it works especially well when:

  • the employer needs additional manpower due to seasonal demand or a currently implemented project,
  • the employer needs employees with specific competences for a specific period of time,
  • there is a need to flexibly adjust employment to the current activities of the company,
  • additional employees are needed, but there is no possibility to increase permanent employment,
  • it is required to replace an employee on a longer leave or sick leave,
  • The company wants to reduce overtime because full-time employees are no longer satisfied with it and show signs of fatigue.
  • the HR and HR and payroll departments within the company are not able to handle the additional number of candidates and full-time employees.

It should only be remembered that temporary work cannot replace permanent work. One employee may be employed in this way by a specific employer for a maximum of 18 months (in total) over a 36-month period. The only exception is a situation in which a temporary employee replaces a permanent employee – then the contract may cover a maximum of 36 months. After the end of the temporary work contract, the employee can be offered permanent employment in the company – then the new contract is concluded only outside the user employer and the employee and may include completely different conditions, as agreed by the parties.

Temporary work is a solution that works in virtually every business under certain circumstances, because it allows you to hire employees on flexible terms, as well as reduce costs. However, the greatest demand for temporary work applies to seasonal industries, as well as those that are extremely susceptible to economic fluctuations.

In which industries are additional hands most often sought through temporary employment agencies?

  • Hospitality
  • tourism
  • gastronomy
  • Construction
  • agriculture
  • logistics
  • e-commerce.

All of the above-mentioned industries have one thing in common – it is not profitable for employers to maintain a constant level of employment throughout the year. In addition, when there is additional demand for work, there is not enough time to recruit competent employees, and at the same time the need to conduct such recruitment would be associated with considerable costs. Therefore, temporary work is an excellent solution for companies operating in these industries, provided by a temporary employment agency with a database of free candidates.

Characteristics of temporary workers

When considering the employment of temporary workers in your company, who are de facto employed by a temporary employment agency, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the characteristics of such employees. Usually, these are people who, at some stage of their lives, consciously and for various reasons, give up traditional, permanent employment in favor of greater flexibility.

Among temporary workers, you can find people who, thanks to flexible employment, combine work with education or other responsibilities, such as family duties. In some cases, they are interested in short-term contracts, corresponding to the fluctuations prevailing in various industries. In this model, a temporary worker takes up employment for six months to take care of other duties for the next six months.

Many temporary workers are highly qualified. Their additional advantage is their previous professional career, which is associated with experience with various employers. Thanks to this, the introduction of a temporary employee to his new duties is not the slightest problem, which is a kind of essence of temporary work, where saving time is extremely important. There is also a high probability that a proven temporary worker, as a result of experience with a new employer, will be interested in taking up permanent cooperation, which the employer may use when there is a need to fill another full-time position.

Temporary work – why is it worth it?

Temporary work offers many benefits for user employers. The already mentioned transfer of most of the formalities to the agency is only one of them. In addition, cooperation with a reputable company provides:

  • accurate identification of needs and providing candidates with appropriate qualifications or predispositions,
  • quick recruitment of employees for positions that need to be filled,
  • the ability to adjust employment to the current needs of the company, without creating new jobs,
  • relieving the HR department,
  • savings resulting from the lack of the need to organize recruitment,
  • the possibility of including the costs of acquiring a temporary employee in the variable costs of the company.

By working with an agency such as Leasing Team, you can receive ongoing support in the employment of temporary workers. Adjust employment to your current needs without worrying about details!

Benefits of implementing a temporary employment service for the user employer:

  • quick acquisition of sought-after employees,
  • flexible adjustment of employment to the company’s needs,
  • recognition of the cost of temporary work services as a variable cost,
  • relieving the HR department – focusing on key tasks,
  • documentation and HR and payroll settlement on the part of the employment agency,
  • handling additional orders without the need to create additional jobs.

Temporary work and a contract of mandate

Temporary work can be an excellent solution for companies that have so far solved the problem of additional demand for employees with the help of civil law contracts. In this contact, one of the most important advantages of using temporary workers is the fact that their recruitment does not consume additional time and costs, so they are available immediately.

However, this is not the end of the advantages of temporary work compared to hiring additional employees under civil law contracts. Cooperation with a temporary employment agency usually allows you to find better candidates immediately.

In the modern labor market, people interested in flexible forms of employment are more likely to choose temporary work, because thanks to employment by an agency, they retain the right to sick pay, a notice period, as well as a holiday of two days per month. All this is not guaranteed by a contract of mandate, which thus becomes an unattractive solution from the employee’s point of view, and therefore does not attract the best candidates available on the market.

The success of a company is determined by the high motivation of employees. In this respect, employees seconded by a temporary employment agency look much better than people employed on flexible terms on the basis of civil law contracts. Temporary workers from agencies are people who consciously choose this form of employment to gain further professional experience, complete their education, and find a career path with which they associate their future. Thanks to all these factors, they are highly motivated from their first day with their new employer, and the obligations towards the employee fulfilled by the agency itself contribute to this.

Temporary work as an alternative to overtime

Temporary work is increasingly chosen by companies as an alternative to overtime. Admittedly, the latter solution has its advantages, provided that it is done with the consent of employees. They are encouraged to take overtime by the possibility of additional earnings, especially when it is associated with better-paid work on weekends.

However, overtime is not the most effective solution to increase the efficiency of the company in the long run. Firstly, employees who work overtime become more tired after some time and lose motivation to work. Secondly, due to increased rates, overtime is sometimes no longer profitable for the employer in the long run.

A temporary employment agency providing additional employees perfectly fills this gap. The company gains employees who are perfectly motivated and prepared to perform their duties, and the agency provides full service, not counting the working time records. The employer also does not have to worry about whether full-time employees will accept overtime. This is a classic situation in which three parties win – the employer, full-time employees and temporary workers.
