“The development of an organization depends on permanent change” – report from the New Industry 4.0 conference

What skills and knowledge does Industry 4.0 require from employees? Are the crews and managers of Polish companies ready for the digital revolution? How to manage processes in a digital environment? These questions were sought by the participants of the discussion “Management and competences”, organized as part of the New Industry 4.0 conference in Katowice. One of the experts invited to the debate was Andżelika Majewska – Vice President of the Management Board of LeasingTeam Group.
The panel was also attended by Małgorzata Dobrowolska from the Center for Industry 4.0, Tomasz Haiduk – President of the Management Board at the Polish Automation and Robotics Forum, Dominika Kawala – Director of 3M SuperHub, Rafał Kerger – economic journalist and editor-in-chief of WNP.pl, Agnieszka Politańska – Member of the Management Board and Director of Employee Development at ASTOR, Paweł Poszytek – General Director of the Foundation for the Development of the Education System, as well as the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Program and the European Corps Solidarity and Katarzyna Śledziewska – Managing Director of DELab at the University of Warsaw.
“In order for the organization to develop, we should get ourselves and our staff used to permanent change. The oft-repeated cliché “the only thing that is certain in life is change” is becoming a practice that we should use in our companies – said Andżelika Majewska. “We have introduced this philosophy at LeasingTeam Group, both internally and in cooperation with customers, and we promote continuous change, even in small steps, at all levels of the organisation. I keep repeating that changes should always accompany the organization; should be a constant process. It is difficult to imagine a situation in which we quickly introduce a digital solution to an analogue organisation. It seems practically impossible. People are not prepared for such a rapid change – she added.
The Vice-President of LeasingTeam Group emphasized the important role of managers and their subordinate employees. “First, a manager must be convinced to change, with a team behind him in which he will instill this belief. What are the characteristics of managers in the area of digitization? First of all, knowledge and openness, no fear of uncertainty the next day. A manager must have full confidence in the board. He must completely identify with the organization – claimed Andżelika Majewska. “Of course, changes can be made by people from the outside who will come as experts. However, I believe that a much more effective solution, better for the organization, is a change made by managers from the inside, possibly with the support of experts –Provide.
“The basic assumption of every organization is development. Evolution, not revolution. This evolution is taking place before our eyes precisely because of this constant change. That is why it is very important to get managers used to the fact that we will measure new parameters, introduce new solutions, shorten our technological processes, etc. Of course, we must not forget about the important role of proper communication – in this situation, dialogue with managers and asking them how they would like to introduce these changes – pointed out Andżelika Majewska.
The New Industry 4.0 conference accompanied the Tech and Job conference and the TOOLEX trade fair, scheduled at the same time. The LeasingTeam Group was an institutional partner of the event.
