{"id":34874,"date":"2026-07-01T12:14:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T10:14:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leasingteam.pl\/blog\/swot-analysis"},"modified":"2026-08-05T13:18:56","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T11:18:56","slug":"swot-analysis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leasingteam.pl\/en\/blog\/swot-analysis","title":{"rendered":"SWOT analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a SWOT analysis?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The SWOT analysis consists in dividing the collected information into four groups (four categories of strategic factors):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>S (<em>Strengths) \u2013 strengths<\/em> of the company: everything that is an advantage, an advantage, an advantage,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>W (<em>Weaknesses<\/em>) \u2013 weaknesses of the company: everything that is a weakness, a barrier, a defect,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>O (<em>Opportunities<\/em>) \u2013 company opportunities: everything that creates an opportunity for beneficial change,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T (<em>Threats<\/em>) \u2013 threats to the company: everything that creates a danger of an adverse change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a classic analytical tool used in management and business strategy, supporting strategic planning and development of the organization. Its essence is to organize information in a SWOT matrix, which includes the strengths and weaknesses of the company, defined as internal factors and opportunities and threats resulting from the external environment. In practice, a company&#8217;s SWOT analysis allows you to better understand its market position in the business environment, plan your strategy and strengthen your competitive strategy, and consequently build lasting competitive advantages.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conducting a SWOT analysis of the company<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Conducting a SWOT analysis should start with gathering information from various sources, so that the conclusions are based on objective factors and not solely on our intuition. The next step is an analysis of the internal potential, including the identification of the company&#8217;s strengths and weaknesses. Identifying weaknesses is of particular importance here, as they often reveal areas that need improvement and may negatively affect the achievement of objectives. Typical examples include, for example, limited financial resources, problems related to the company&#8217;s operational processes or outdated technology.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the impact of external factors is analysed, including those affecting the functioning of the organisation, such as market trends, technological progress, legal changes, regulatory changes and broadly understood market changes. These factors can generate external risks and other potential risks, but also create development opportunities, such as an increase in demand or a growing demand for specific services or competencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This method can also be used as a personal SWOT analysis or self-analysis, supporting self-assessment and building awareness of one&#8217;s own strengths in the context of professional development. In each variant, it is important to assign weights to individual factors and indicate key areas that will become the starting point for further decisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From diagnosis to strategy, or how to respond to the company&#8217;s strengths and weaknesses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the conclusions drawn from the SWOT matrix, it is possible to select a coherent strategic approach.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An aggressive strategy assumes intensive use of opportunities while relying on the strong strengths of the organization.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A defensive strategy focuses on mitigating risk in a situation where threats are dominant.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The conservative strategy combines cautious development with the protection of existing resources and stabilization of operations, which allows to maintain a market position despite the volatility of the environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, a service company can use its strengths to strengthen its social media visibility while minimizing the risks posed by competitive pressures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also worth considering a complementary tool such as TOWS analysis.
